The hedges are alive with the sound of music! ! !
This morning my yard looked like an airport version of Grand Central Station. Birds flying in every direction, in all sorts of patterns - sometimes looking like B52 bombers, some like butterflies, some like darts. It was a glorious sight! And when I opened the door, the air was vibrating with bird songs! It was a glorious sound!
The ones that caught my attention were 3 very fat robins, the spotted towhee was back, a varied thrush, and many pine siskins, finches, juncos, sparrows, a couple of chickadees and Faith was back! ! ! WHAT FUN! ! !
Then Jeff noticed that some birds are already checking out the bird houses, so, I put out one of those cotton balls that my friend gave me at Christmas.

My photography skills have to be sharpened up again :) But, I don't mind, because I'll be practicing on my favorite subjects --- Welcome home birdies!

I have been enjoying your blog immensely. I miss my yard at bear Creek as we were creating a wildlife sanctuary. Here are some plant suggestions. rhodies, azalias, butterfly bush, columbine, fuschia bushes; these not only attract hummingbirds but butterflies as well. A hawthorne tree provides a sanctuary in summer but feeds the birds during the winter with all the berries. I have a list somewhere amongst all my things and when I find it I will pass it along!!! blessings jane

I'm being eaten out of house and home by the Pine Siskins. :c) Those dudes will eat the cup feeders dry in a morning! Haven't seen any Robins yet.
