I was reading in a magazine last night that you can keep algae from growing in your birdbath if you put a few pre-1982 pennies in it. It said that the high copper content "retards growth."
This is a blog dedicated to my discoveries and observations at the Bird Feeding Stations in my front yard and other fun experiences that I have in nature and photography.
I was born and raised on the east coast of Canada. I was a "stay-at-home" mom for 30 years with 6 wonderful children. I live each day with the incredible joy of knowing that God has created all things and He has packed every living thing with amazing potential, and I have just begun the journey to find out what my own potential is!

Worth a try. Let me know if it works. A little bleach works also...lol.
Well now, I've not heard of that, but heck, it might be worth a try! :c)
I did find some articles that talk about copper killing algae! Copper is used in swimming pools and ponds to keep them algae free! wow!
